Providence Athlete Awarded ACC Letters
During our recent assembly, Providence Christian College proudly recognised Andrew Hellbusch, who made history as our first student to receive the prestigious ACC Letters Award!
A delegate from the Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) of WA presented Andrew with this highest individual honour, recognising his sustained excellence in sport. The award, equivalent to an ACC Hall of Fame induction, includes a framed ACC Letters plaque, an All-Stars pin, and a place in the ACC history book.
The ACC Letters Award is given to students who have been selected for an All-Stars Team in Swimming, Athletics, or Cross-Country for at least four years, or in an Open All-Stars team sport like Basketball, Netball, or AFL for at least three years. Competing against 58,000 students across 88 ACC member schools in WA, Andrew’s achievement of being named an All-Star for four consecutive years is truly remarkable.
Andrew’s journey began in Year 7, participating in after-school training and Saturday park runs. His commitment and talent quickly became evident, earning him the title of Champion Boy in both Cross Country and the 1500m event almost every year of his secondary schooling.
