Early Learning
Nurturing hearts and minds through Christ-centered early education for a bright future.
At Providence Christian College, we believe that relationship is at the very heart of community life and all learning.
We believe in Learning for Life and seek to educate the the whole child – spiritually, socially, emotionally and academically.
At Providence Christian College, our Early Learning programme (Kindergarten to Year 2) provides children with an excellent start to their educational journey. We provide a balanced curriculum that also introduces important fundamental Christian values through the way we interact with each other, as well as through the sharing of Bible stories, prayer, scripture and songs.
We provide a safe, supportive environment where children are encouraged to live in relationship, learning to work together, sharing experiences, communicating with one another and living together in harmony. We also believe that parents play an important role in their child’s education and we welcome parents into the classroom to share and participate in the programme. This partnership with parents is fostered throughout the College in a variety of ways.
We believe that children are created uniquely, are diverse in their character and personality and have learning needs particular to them as individuals.
Through a balance of investigative play and explicit teaching, we aim to provide a well-rounded and considered programme that provides an opportunity for children to test out ideas, challenge their thinking and develop and create new understandings.
Our Early Learning Programme provides children with the opportunity to participate in activities that are designed to meet their individual learning needs while offering opportunities to reinforce and extend learned concepts and skills. The Early Learning Programme at Providence Christian College embraces our College Core Values and establishes a firm foundation for lifelong learning in the College, home and community context.
