Meet Our New Deputy Principal, Mr Oliver Oeij!

We are so excited to welcome Mr Oeij to the Providence community!

Before stepping into education, Mr Oeij was a lawyer for six years. As a secondary teacher, he specialised in Humanities and Mathematics and has held several leadership roles, including Head of Year, Executive Dean of Teaching and Learning (K–7), and Staff Developer with AVID Australia (Advancement Via Individual Determination) where he provided professional learning to teachers nationwide.

He has also been recognised at both State and National levels by ACEL (Australian Council for Educational Leaders) for his leadership, receiving the “Teacher Leader Award for Excellence” and the “New Voice in Leadership Scholarship”.

Fun Facts!
  • Mr Oeij is married to Kate, a school teacher, and they have three sons: Hudson (10), Boston (8), and Austin (6). Their family also includes a Cavoodle named Oji!
  • His last name is pronounced “Wii”, like the Nintendo Wii!
  • Mr Oeij enjoys basketball, reading fantasy books, and playing Nintendo Switch with his boys!
  • His favourite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, which offers a powerful reminder of how to love others.

Mr Oeij is excited to support the students and staff at Providence in developing God's given purpose in their lives.
