What is GoGuardian?
GoGuardian is a comprehensive platform used by the College to manage and monitor students' online activities during school hours. It allows teachers to create a safe and focused digital environment for learning while also giving them insights into students' online behaviour to better support their needs.
GoGuardian Parent is an app available on devices running iOS and Android. This app enables IT Administrators to share managed student browsing history with verified parents and guardians.
GoGuardian Parent gives Parents and Guardians the ability to pause their children's, block specific websites, and schedule internet availability outside of school hours on school-managed devices.
What are the key features of the app?
The GoGuardian Parent App contains several features that help parents and Guardians. These features are accessible in the app by choosing the different options at the bottom of the screen. These features include:
- Summary
The summary section provides an at-a-glance, easy-to-digest overview of what your student has been doing.
- Activity
The Activity section provides a list showing which sites your student has tried to access each day.
- Filters
The Filters section allows you to block websites that you do not want your student to access. It is important to remember that your student will still be blocked by the College filtering policies during out-of-school hours. This means that they will already be blocked from inappropriate sites. Additionally, the GoGuardian Parent App will not enable a Guardian to allow a site that is blocked by the College.
- Time Limits
The Time Limits section allows for immediate Pausing and Resuming of the internet to your student. You may also set a schedule for when the internet will be turned off for your student.
- Settings
Settings allows you to learn more about the Parent App, review the terms and conditions, provide feedback, and sign out of the app.

How do I access the app?
- Download the GoGuardian Parent app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Enter your email address for authentication.
If the following message appears: "Sorry, the email you provided can't be verified. Please try again or contact your school's administrator", double-check the spelling of the full email address. If the email address is correct, please contact helpdesk@providence.wa.edu.au to ensure the correct email is on file.
- Check your email to complete verification.
If the link sent to your email does not work, use the PIN provided within the email in the GoGuardian Parent app to complete verification.
