Bend The Air Emerging Talent Award
During the school holidays, Cathrine had the opportunity to compete at Bend The Air, performing alongside many talented dancers and aerial artists. Cathrine was thrilled to receive an Emerging Talent trophy in recognition of her performance. The award celebrates emerging performers who demonstrate talent, potential and a passion for their discipline. For Cathrine, the experience was an exciting opportunity to challenge herself, perform in front of an audience and continue developing her skills in Lyra.
Cathrine’s Dance Journey
Cathrine has been dancing since 2021, and 2026 marks her fifth year of dance. She attends weekly Lyra classes at Paragon Performing Arts, where what began as a hobby has grown into her favourite thing to do each week. Her passion for dance began at a young age, with an initial interest in gymnastics eventually leading her towards dance. Before she began dancing herself, Cathrine enjoyed going along to support her friends while they performed.
Cathrine particularly enjoys Lyra because it challenges her to do her very best and encourages her to step outside her comfort zone. Performing in front of an audience has also helped her develop her confidence while continuing to grow as a dancer. What began as a hobby has become an important part of Cathrine’s week, and her dedication and enthusiasm for Lyra continue to shine through.
