Providence Student Takes First Place in WA Economics Cartoon Competition
The competition attracted 112 entries from students across Western Australia, challenging participants to create a hand-drawn cartoon that explored economic concepts they had been studying.
Suzanne’s award-winning entry explored the various factors influencing oil prices, including global demand, production costs, OPEC decisions, geopolitical events and technological change. Bringing these complex economic concepts to life, Suzanne creatively incorporated them into an innovative Monopoly-style board game, demonstrating her understanding of Economics alongside her ability to think creatively.
Her entry stood out among the many submissions, earning her a certificate and a $250 prize in recognition of her outstanding work.
Suzanne’s award-winning cartoon is currently on display in the Learning Hub, alongside the other student entries from the competition.
We are incredibly proud of Suzanne and this wonderful achievement. Her success is a fantastic example of the creativity, dedication and enthusiasm our students bring to their learning at Providence.
We would also like to recognise and congratulate all our PIE students who took part in the competition: Scarlett Chan, Dillon Paulus, David Chiong, Angelina Mathew, Manisha Marattil, Suzanne Stanley and Charlene Khooi.
Well done to Suzanne and all our students who participated!
