Providence Alumni Signs with Perth Glory
Providence Alumni Pieter Jacobsz is taking the next step in his football career after signing a one-year deal with Perth Glory.
The 25-year-old West Australian has enjoyed an impressive run in the NPL WA, winning the Golden Boot in 2024 and 2025 while playing for Armadale SC, before claiming the award again this season with Perth Azzurri. Across those three seasons, Pieter scored more than 60 goals.
His performances have now earned him the opportunity to step up to the A-League Men’s competition with his hometown club, Perth Glory.
For Pieter, the opportunity represents the fulfilment of a long-held dream.
It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play professional football and to do it in my home city makes it that much more special.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Pieter also acknowledged the role of his faith and the people who have supported him throughout his football journey.
I firstly want to give all the glory to God, he has blessed me to be here.
Pieter also expressed his gratitude to his wife, parents, family, friends, players and coaches who have supported him throughout his journey, from driving him to training and games to encouraging him through the ups and downs.
As Pieter begins this exciting new chapter with Perth Glory, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements of a Providence Alumni and follow his journey onto the professional football stage. We pray God continues to guide and bless Pieter as he pursues this dream and steps into this new season of his football career.
Congratulations, Pieter! We wish you every success for the season ahead.
