Middle School

A supportive, Christ-centred environment where students build strong academic foundations, grow in confidence, and discover who they are as learners and individuals.

Middle School is an important part of your child’s learning journey, where Years 7 to 9 are crucial in shaping who your child will become.

The Middle School years are a time of significant growth as students transition from the familiarity of Primary School into Secondary learning. In a supportive environment, they build confidence, form new friendships, and begin to explore who they are as learners and individuals.

In Secondary School, each day begins in a student’s Form group, a space where friendships grow and a sense of belonging is nurtured. Form teachers, supported by Year Coordinators, guide their students through the challenges and opportunities of school life. Students stay with their Form teacher and Form group throughout their Secondary journey, providing consistency and a familiar support network.

Form teachers support each student’s academic, social, and spiritual development, guiding them through every step of their Secondary journey.

Every morning during Form time, students engage in devotions, which may include a Bible reading, a message from the Form teacher, or discussion of issues from a Biblical perspective. Throughout the year, Coordinators organise inter-form games and activities that strengthen connections across the cohort and provide additional guidance when needed.

Through Biblical Studies, Chapel, and active participation in worship, students grow in faith, understanding, and spiritual confidence.

All students in Years 7–9 study Biblical Studies, following a curriculum thoughtfully designed by the College’s Coordinator of Biblical Studies to nurture understanding, faith, and the application of Biblical principles in daily life.

Chapel is held once a fortnight on even weeks, bringing the entire Secondary School together to hear guest speakers, panel interviews, and testimonies from staff and students. The College Worship Team leads worship during these gatherings, and students have the opportunity to participate through music, sharing testimonies, or engaging in interviews with their peers and teachers. Parents are warmly invited to attend these special occasions.

Student Leadership

Leadership is a key part of student growth at Providence. Middle School students can develop their skills through classroom activities, club roles, and school responsibilities such as leading devotions or assisting with assemblies. Each Form Class elects two Student Councillors who represent their peers, attend monthly meetings, lead assemblies, and assist with College events. These opportunities encourage students to take initiative, contribute meaningfully, and grow in confidence and responsibility.
