In 2021, the UNAAWA is celebrating the outstanding contributions of teachers who supported building awareness and

support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals in WA – and in challenging times.

Ms Madeline Lynam and the PIE students worked with 22 other teachers on the AISWA Global Competencies project.

This has won the following:

SPECIAL MENTION AWARD: 22 teachers from 11 schools in the Association of Independent Schools of WA (AISWA)

network who completed the “Purposeful Pedagogies: Global Competencies in Action” program and contributed to the

publication of the same name.

“These inspiring educators form part of a growing Community of Practice in WA and beyond on global citizenship and

sustainability education, which is helping to empower students, staff, and communities to find solutions to pressing

global challenges like climate change.”
